Places to Ride

Tiger Run: Breckenridge Co.

Take I-70 to the Frisco (Hwy 9) exit, go south toward Breckenridge 6-8 miles to Tiger Road (stop light). Go left and go about 5 miles and look for a road to the left. There may be a sign that says North Fork of the Swan. Go another half mile and there is a meadow to camp in.
A lot of riding above tree line very scenic, you can see for miles in every direction. Trails are some what rough and rocky, you could spend about three days here and not really see all of it.

Bald Mountain / Mushroom Gulch: Buena VistaCo.

To get there take Hwy 285 like you are going to Buena Vista. About 6 or 7 miles after Antero Junction There will be a turn-off to the left just before the small bridge that goes over Trout Creek. That will be County Rd. 307. Go down that road less than a mile and turn left on County Rd. 308 which is Mushroom Gulch. Camping is generally back up 308 a mile or two on the right in a nice meadow. Trails are smoother again very scenic, you can spend a lot of time here as well.

Ruby Mountain: Buena Vista Co.

Take hwy 24 west to Johnson's Village (near Buena Vista). Turn South to road 301 (near Nathrop), Turn left, cross river. Make a right at Ruby Mountain Road.

Grand Lake: Grand lake Co.

West side of Rocky Mountain National Park
Turn onto Hwy. 34 at Granby to Grand Lake there will be a road to the left about Halfway to Grand Lake right by the Dilly Docks on Lake Granby There is also a personal storage place at the turnoff. It should be Rd. 41. About four miles west on that road there is a large parking area with some bathrooms. Go past the parking area about a mile and there will be a small forest road to the left. I think the number is 8__ something. There is open camping about any place along there as well. Very nice well groomed and maintained trails, very scenic area.

Cabin Creek North of Granby:

Take I-70 to HWY 40 past Granby about 5 miles. Turn North on HWY 125 for about 12 miles. Cabin Creek rd, (FR 112) is on the West side of the road follow this back about 2 miles, there are some fairly large and flat camping areas.
Most of the trails are 4X4 trails and are not overly challenging but quit scenic with views of Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, and Winter Park ski area.
